African-Americans getting suboptimal breast cancer treatment

A new study which included 34,080 breast cancer patients in a national Medicare database has found that older white women are significantly more likely to receive radiation treatment after lumpectomy (which is the standard of care for early breast cancer) than black women. Black patients in parts of the NE and the South had the lowest rates.Read original story
